The Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD): Enterprise Application Developer 3.5 certification is intended for professionals who have a good knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and Microsoft .NET 3.5. The professionals are required to build distributed applications that focus on ASP.NET and Windows Forms rich-client experiences.

Prerequisites for MCPD: Enterprise Application Developer 3.5 Certification

For achieving the MCPD: Enterprise Application Developer 3.5 certification, candidates should first complete the following four MCTS certifications:
  1. MCTS: .NET Framework 3.5, Windows Forms Applications: This MCTS certification is a pre-requisite which itself includes one prerequisite exam, i.e., the 70-536 (TS: Microsoft .NET Framework, Application Development Foundation) exam, and one required exam, i.e., the 70-505 (TS: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5, Windows Forms Application Development) exam.

  2. MCTS: .NET Framework 3.5, ASP.NET Applications: This MCTS certification is a pre-requisite which itself includes one prerequisite exam, i.e., the 70-536 (TS: Microsoft .NET Framework, Application Development Foundation) exam, and one required exam, i.e., the 70-562 (TS: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5, ASP.NET Application Development) exam.

  3. MCTS: .NET Framework 3.5, ADO.NET Applications: This certification is a pre-requisite which itself includes one prerequisite exam, i.e., the 70-536 (TS: Microsoft .NET Framework, Application Development Foundation) exam, and one required exam, i.e., the 70-561 (TS: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5, ADO.NET Application Development) exam.

  4. MCTS: .NET Framework 3.5, Windows Communication Foundation Applications: This certification is a prerequisite which itself includes one prerequisite exam, i.e., the 70-536 (TS: Microsoft .NET Framework, Application Development Foundation) exam, and one required exam, i.e., the 70-503 (TS: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5, Windows Communication Foundation Application Development) exam.
Required Exam for MCPD: Enterprise Application Developer 3.5 Certification

In order to get the MCPD: Enterprise Application Developer 3.5 certification, a candidate must pass the 70-565 (Pro: Designing and Developing Enterprise Applications Using the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5) exam. This exam will be published on January 19, 2009 (still in development). The exam will be available in English language.

Required Code languages

The available programming languages for obtaining this certification can be Microsoft Visual C# 2008 and Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 programming languages.
